He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Russell and Lela Downs (Hatfield); his wife Frances Ann Downs (Smith); his daughter Sharon Ann Meyers (Downs); and his brothers, Gordon, Clifford Downs and Harold Downs.
He is survived by: his children, Tom Downs (Kathy), Tim Downs (Cathy) and Jayne Goings (Mike); and his grandchildren, Marybeth, Tommy, Ryan, Matthew, Lucas and Ian. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Howard's memory may be made to Ohio's Hospice or Zion Lutheran Church.
