He was predeceased by: his parents, James Floyd and Lucy Southers (Barrett); and his brother Terry Southers. He is survived by: his wife Sage Southers (McCloskey); and his children, James Regan Southers (Christa Zornes), Red Southers (Roman) and Brianna Southers (Michael Buckney).

Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home (29 N Main St, Germantown, OH 45327). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Aka Franklin Church of God (704 S River St, Franklin, OH 45005). A burial was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery-Gratis (5785 Brubaker Rd, Eaton, OH 45330).
