He was predeceased by: his father Ralph Schechter; his stepmother Aunda Schechter; his mother Geneva Schechter; and his brother Tim Schechter. He is survived by: his wife Diane Schechter (Masters); his children, David Schechter (Mary Jo) and Cyndi Chapman (Jeff Shellhaas); his grandchildren, Gary, Tyler (Dianna), Aundrea, Amber (Luke), Scott (Emily) and Brooklyn (John); his great grandchildren, Lucas, Wyatt, Riley, Nathaniel, Luna and Declan; his sisters, Christine Dubbert (Tom) and Martha Miller (Jay); and his stepbrother Charles Napier. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home (508 E Linden Ave, Miamisburg, OH 45342). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
