He was predeceased by: his wife Karen Grindle; his parents, Marion Grindle and Verda Grindle; his brother Raymond Grindle; and his granddaughter Kirsten (Kambria Cook).

He is survived by: his siblings, Diana Apgar (Richard) and Douglas Grindle (Dawn); and his children, Kimberly Cook (Kirby), Kevin Grindle (Angela), Kris Grindle (Hillary), Anita Extine (Hubie), Richard Owens (Belinda), Jason Owens (Abba) and Michael Owens. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
