He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Mary; his son Jacob A.; his parents, Earl Schmitz and Alma Schmitz; his siblings, Janet Bonner (Douglas), Kim Schmitz, Kris Schmitz (Liz), Jill Marugg (Don) and Tamara Korchak (Paul); his brothers-in-law, Gary Freeman (Margaret) and David Freeman (Ellen); his nieces and nephews, Lindsey (Brian), Nate, Olivia (Rob), Addison, Ian, Noah, Greg (Stephanie), Sara (Victor), Adam (Taley) and Aaron (Jocelyn); and his daughter Melody.

Visitation will be Monday, October 4th from 3-7pm at A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home, 18149 Bagley Rd. Middleburg Hts. (West of I-71). (Masks and Social Distancing is required).
