He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mello and Mary Mello (Fitzgerald); his wife Leona Mae Mello (Ash); his siblings, James (Josie Mello), Robert Mello, Rita (Robert), Campbell, Gerald Mello and Marlene Mello; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Pontes, Leon (Hazel Ash), Ken (Carol Ash), Max (Joann Ash), Ed Ash and Carol Ann Ash.
He is survived by: his children, Diana Tripi (Robert) and Bill Mello Jr.; his grandsons, Christopher Tripi (Eunicee) and Nicholas Tripi (Bekah); his great grandchildren, Leona Monet Tripi, Olivia Rose Tripi and Julia Hazel Tripi; his sisters, Nancy Huss (Stanley) and Linda Pontes; and his brother-in-law Frank Ash. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
