As we bid Al farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman J. Berns and Lena Berns (Seiler). He is survived by: his wife Cherie Berns; and his children, Michael Berns, Vickie Berns, Leslie Berns (Steven Kiger), Greg Berns and Jeffery Berns (Jane). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
