He was predeceased by: his parents, Velma and Rev. M. O. Earls; his grandparents, George, Elizabeth Earls, Leonard and Callie Smith; his siblings, George Caleb Earls, Maynard Dwight Earls, Michael Lofton Earls and Cheryl Lynn Hale; and his granddaughter Hannah Jean Randall Earls.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Ann Earls; his children, John Carl Earls (Lita), Bryan Randall Earls (Alicia), Elizabeth Dian Henkel (Frank) and Jennifer Callie Watson (Gary); his grandchildren, Annika Mullens, James Davis, Paige Earls, Bailey Earls, Hope Earls, Abigail Henkel, Frankie Henkel, LeeAnn Henkel, Callie Watson and John Watson; and his sister Lois Elaine Oligee. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
