It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elmer E. Koontz (Middletown, Ohio), born in Richmond, Indiana, who passed away on May 18, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Koontz and Bertha Hensley Vanderpool. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Adams Koontz; his children, Rick Koontz (Loretta), Rob Koontz (Becky), Joey Koontz (Bobbie) and Chris Koontz (Stacy); his stepchildren, Rochelle Taylor (Brian), Jill Santos and Jeff Conover; and his grandchildren, Heather, Scott, Donnie, Alex, Matt, Micah and Lily.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Middletown, 4418 Lewis St., Middletown, Ohio 45044.

“Dear barbara and family, i was sorry to hear of elmer's passing. I am remembering him in prayer. I last saw him in 2007 at my father's (harold harrison "ted" koontz's funeral). I still remember his "cherry pie question". I also remember a fun vacation in michigan when bill koontz, uncle bob and my dad ted took their families. Roy, elmer and i had a triple date!
