He was predeceased by: his son Michael Ray Gross; his grandson Joshua Steven Gross; his siblings, Littleton, James Harding, Wiley, Billy Joe, Dewey Jr., Florence, Zola, Thelma Jean and Violet Lee; and his mother Joyce.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his sons, Wayne Gross (Susie), Johnny Gross and Steve Gross (Jenny); his grandchildren, Beth Graham (Nick), Mike Gross, Rachel Gross and James Gross; his great grandchildren, Jackson, Finley, Addison and Alden Graham; and his siblings, Walter Gross of Franklin, OH and Judy Templin of Miamisburg, OH. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
