He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Elam and Gertrude Elam (Stacy); his son Samuel Patrick Elam; and his siblings, William, Garland "Skeeter" and Geraldine Wheeler.
He is survived by: his wife Dixie Noble Elam; his children, Jacqueline Nagy (Bill), Steve Elam (Daninne) and Kimberly Amburgey; his grandchildren, Nicole Nagy and Spencer Elam; and his great grandchild Thomas Elam. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
