James Ristaneo Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of James Ristaneo of Middletown, Ohio. James, born on April 5, 1935, passed away on August 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Ristaneo and Virginia Ristaneo (Fryman); his wife Esther; his brother David Thomas; his stepdaughter Becky Andersen; and his grandsons, Jonathan Couch, Sean Distler and Jason Distler.
He is survived by: his siblings, Connie Ristaneo and Larry Ristaneo (Pam); his daughters, Jaime Swallow (Shawn) and Lisa Tinkham (Chad); his grandchildren, Tara Swallow, Julia Swallow, Miya Swallow, Alanna Tinkham and Aleah Grace Tinkham; his stepchildren, Debra Manning (Michael P. Hollon), Donald Distler II (Sharon), Chris Distler (Shelley) and Dave Distler (Angel); and his grandchildren, Eric Andersen, Summer Couch, Donnie Distler (Elizabeth), Stephanie Torsell (Lesley), Jennifer Burke (Sean), Brenden Distler (Jahayra), Branden Distler, Breanna Distler, Phillip Distler and Matt Distler (Amanda). He is also survived by 24 great‑grandchildren and two great‑great grandsons.
A Mass was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Family Parish–st. John (1405 1st Ave, Middletown, OH 45044). A burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
