He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Brashear and Lillie Brashear; his wife Iris Brashear; and his siblings, Velora Profitt, Claudine Ferguson, Elizabeth Evans, William, Eli, Ernest, Elmer, Corbett, Harrison, Joe and Adrian.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Brashear (Michelle Roderer) and Lisa Bishop (John); and his grandson Jacob Bishop.
