He was predeceased by: his parents, Harrison Bernard and Mary Ellen Bernard (Camp); his wife Sylvia Bernard; and his siblings, Barbara, Linda and Larry.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Bernard (Tina) and Lori Pease; his grandchildren, April Sakach (Kathy), Stephanie Harlan, David Harlan (Alisha), Zach Bernard (Erica) and Rusty Bernard; his great grandchildren, Dalton Harlan, Olivia Sakach and Kacey Bernard; and his sister Judy Campbell (David). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to Hospice Care of Middletown, 4418 Lewis St., Suite B, Middletown, Ohio 45044.
