He was predeceased by: his parents, James G. Owen and Mary Elizabeth Owen (DuBose); and his brother Jim Owen. He is survived by: his wife Bobette; his children, Laurie Herrell (Chris) and Doug Owen (Kate); his grandchildren, Chase Herrell, Alyia Herrell, Rickson Herrell, Alani Herrell, Madi Owen and Arlo Owen; and his pet Fluffy. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
