He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Rush and Lorene Ida Mynhier Rush; his wife Louise Marie Lolli Rush; and his brothers, Martin Rush and Eugene Rush.
He is survived by: his children, Maria Combs (David), Richard Rush, Jr., Beverly Mikula (Stephen), Robert Rush, Brian Rush (Carole Martin) and Jennie Patterson (Edward); his grandchildren, Heather, Christina, Ashley, Dawn, Shane, Stephanie, Sarah, Christopher, Brianna, Abigail and Samuel; his great grandchildren, Christian, Avery, Brynlee, Riley, Annabella, Nathan, Noah, Guiliana, Nolan Richard, Addison, Maddie, Emilie and Luna Louise; and his siblings, William Rush (Lois) and Ellie Vetters.
