He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Witte and Dorothy Witte; and his siblings, Judy Witte and Tom Witte. He is survived by: his wife Donna L. Witte; his children, Scott William Witte (Beth), Mary Kathleen Laws (Keith) and Amy Lynn Leatherwood (Jeff); his grandchildren, Madeleine Paige Witte, Chase William Witte, Andrew Ellis Laws, Corinne Cecilia Laws, Tyler Harrison Laws, Abigail Marie Leatherwood, Samuel Jeffrey Leatherwood and Charles Sanford Leatherwood; and his siblings, Mary Ann Rosensweet, Joseph Witte, Bill Witte, John Witte, Julie Meltzer and Terry Tanner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Marines Toys For Tots or St Jude Children's Hospital.
