She was predeceased by: her brother Craig Schmidtgesling. She is survived by: her parents, Josephine Schmidtgesling and Paul Schmidtgesling; her children, Dusty Smith (Esther), Cody Smith (Kristen Jacobs) and Kasey Helbling; her brother Steve Schmidtgesling (Miriam); her grandchildren, Jay, Lane, Emmy, Kaylee, Leland, Easton, Wyatt, Caden, Braden and Dorothea; her sister-in-law Hannah Schmidtgesling; and her nieces, Christina, Beth, Sarah, Lauren, Emily and Paige.

In lieu of flowers, family request memorial contributions in Dana's honor be directed to a charity of ones choice.
