He was predeceased by: his father Stanley Schilling. He is survived by: his significant other Carrie Taylor; his children, Kenna Schilling (Trevin Skylar), Mitchell Schilling, Max Schilling, Mason Schilling, Luke Messer, Elijah Messer and Hudson Wolford; his mother Gloria Schilling; and his sister Stacy Schilling.

If desired, Joel's family asks that memorial contributions in his honor be directed to the Megie Funeral Home and Crematory to help offset the expenses of the funeral.
