He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Adams; his son Chris Adams; his niece Lisa Whitaker; his siblings, Earl Adams (Lou) and Mildred Whitaker (Merrill); and his parents, James B. Adams and Grace Adams.
He is survived by: his son Grant Adams; his daughter-in-law Tonya Hines; his children, Joni Privett (Ray Helton), Teresa Chalkley (Mark) and Daniel Helton (Melanie); his grandchildren, Mandi Mullaney (Darren), Matthew Privett (Loreli), Cara Harrison (Chris), Andrea Knorr (Adam), Josh Helton (Dustie) and Natalie Absher (Jonathan); and his nieces and nephews, Sharon Ellerbrock (Skip), Shauna Dammel (Richard), Matthew Whitaker (Julie), Bill Adams (Madge) and Larry Adams (Joanne). He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
