He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Glenn and Mildred Pauline Ellison (Jones); and his brother John Ellison. He is survived by: his wife Paula "Polly"; his children, Julie Winner (Andrew), Kathy Andrews (Dave), Glenn Ellison and Susan Schemmel (Rob); his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Logan), Katie, Hannah (Matt), Michael, Emily, Danielle, Meghan, Jacob, Chas, Carter and Olivia; and his siblings, Verna Kaiser, David Ellison (Debbie) and Beckie Dehner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be gifted to the Parkinson's Foundation or Kiwanis Club in his honor.
