He was predeceased by : his parents, George R. Bower and Leona Anderson Bower; and his sisters, Bonita McClure, Beatrice Strouse and Beverly Giauque.

He is survived by : his wife Christine Lamantia Bower; his sons, Travis Bower (Jennifer) and Trent Bower (Sarah Roberson); his granddaughters, Rose and Violet; and his sister Barbara Bower Griffiths of St. Clairsville.
