He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert T. Maddox and Dorothy Maddox; his siblings, Nelda Sue Coots and Hurbert Coots Jr.; and his son-in-law Rudy Barstow.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Rutt Coots; his children, Cynthia Barstow of Wooster, John Coots (Natalie) of Wooster and Eric Coots (Beth) of Ashland; his grandchildren, Travis Minnich, Nickolas, Linsey and Everlee Coots; and his siblings, Peggy, Spenser (Anna Mary Swinehart) of London, KY and Mark Coots of Millersburg.
