He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Raymond Shields and Sylvia Kast (Shields); his wife Deborah Shields (Smith); his daughters, Jennifer Jones (Randy) of Minerva and Joanna Warner of Columbus; his sister Estelle Hayes of Sarasota, FL; his grandchildren, Jacquelyn Canonico of Akron, Matthew Jones of Minerva, Samantha Hudy (Dakota) of Paris, Cameron Canonico (Sophia Passarinho) of Columbus, Tiffany Jones of Chicago, IL, Juliann Lewis (Connor) of Lawton, OK, Christian Canonico (Sophia Testa) of Akron and Harper Warner; his great grandchildren, Addilyn Hudy and Logan Lewis; and his siblings, Louise VanHorn, Alice Raymond and Wilbur "Bill" Shields. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Village of Minerva to plant a tree in Fred's memory in the Minerva Bicentennial Park.
