We announce the death of Janet (Hanson) Witherspoon of Minerva, Ohio, who passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 87. Janet will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Mease and Kathryn "Katie" Mease (Morris); her husband Donald Witherspoon; her son James "Rick" Hanson; and her siblings, Carole Weir, Jack and Bill Mease.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Willis (Marty) of Sunbury; her grandchildren, Kylee Nguyen (Bobby) and Jacob "Dane" Willis; her great grandchildren, Aiden, Parker and Isla Nguyen; and her close friend Marlene Ludrosky of Minerva.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home (206 E Lincolnway, Minerva, OH 44657). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
