He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Kovacik and Emoline Kovacik (Mazeroski). He is survived by: his wife Gloria Kovacik (Tallman); his children, Heidi Hoffmeyer (Todd) of Alliance, James Kovacik (Renee) of Minerva, Steve Kovacik (Roberta) of Parma and Curt Gehret (Shannon) of Utah; his daughter-in-law Mickell Gehret; his brother Gary Kovacik of Malvern; his grandchildren, Katelyn Palfy (Ryan), Matthew Hoffmeyer (Alaina), Andrew Hoffmeyer (Lindsey), Travis Hoffmeyer, Kaylee Harwood (Jared), Alyson Gehret, Jason Michael Gehret and Torryn Gehret; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte Palfy, Kasen Palfy, Landrey Hoffmeyer, Henry Harwood and Diane Harwood (Annie).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home (206 E Lincolnway, Minerva, OH 44657). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
