He was predeceased by : his parents, Urban Heitkamp and Alvina Heitkamp (Kemper); his siblings, Ken, Veronica Heitkamp, Larry Heitkamp, Gary Heitkamp and Terry Heitkamp; his parents-in-law, Eugene and Marie Bednar; and his brothers-in-law, Michael and John Bednar.
He is survived by : his children, Melissa, Ron Bergman, Don Heitkamp, Jr., Tony and Saijit Heitkamp; his grandchildren, Michael Stachler, Austin, Jacob, Kayla, Blake, Carson Bergman, Riley Heitkamp and Anthonie Phommachanh; his great grandchildren, Raelynn Lutz, Rohan Stachler, Calvin and Klein Phommachanh; his sister Mary Jane (Duane Bachman); and his in-laws, Judy Heitkamp, Larry Baker, Jane Heitkamp and Barb Heitkamp.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Minster/New Bremen Right to Life and Grand Lake Hospice.
