He was predeceased by: his former wife Helen Ruffing (Swaney); his parents, Vincent Ruffing and Almarie Ruffing (Stockmaster); his brother-in-law Norbert Wilhelm; and his parents-in-law, Gladden and Elizabeth Swaney.
He is survived by: his wife Agnes Pierce (Seifker); his children, Tina Welch (Ross) of Norwalk, Maryanne Reamer (Sam) of Norwalk, Katy Scheneberg (John) of Johnson City, TN and Timothy Ruffing (Valerie); his grandchildren, Jason, Joe, Josh, Brad, Amanda, Lori, Matt, Hannah, Brooke and Nicole; his great grandchildren, Aidan, Dylan, Scarllett, Everett, Mason, Peyton, Charlie, Jacob, Haygen and Athelia; his siblings, Gerry Wilhelm, Ernestine Walliser (Jerry) and Tom Ruffing (Sylvia); and his stepchildren, Steve Pierce, Marvin Pierce, Dave Pierce (Lori), Molly Laux (Steve) and Kevin Pierce. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel (109 Monroe St, Monroeville, OH 44847). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (66 Chapel St, Monroeville, OH 44847).
