We announce the death of Dowel L. Seitz of Mount Gilead, Ohio, who passed away on June 11, 2026, at the age of 87. Dowel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William and Frances Mae Seitz (Vian); his wife Jane A. Rathburn; and his siblings, Eldora Kost, Beatrice Staats, John and Robert Seitz.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Seitz (Vickie) of Pataskala and Terri Kidwell of Cardington; his grandchildren, Joshua Russell-Seitz (Breanna), Tiffany Kidwell and Tylee Kidwell; his great grandchildren, Kyler, Ryser, Evalina, Gwendolynn, Dawson and Carter; his brothers, Jacob Seitz of Iberia, Jasper Seitz of Edison, Floyd Seitz of Hinckley, Charles "Charlie" Seitz of Cardington and Kenneth Seitz of Mount Vernon; and his sister-in-law Joyce Seitz. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
