We are sad to announce that on March 30, 2024, at the age of 77, George Ed Powell of Mount Orab, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, George Elmer and Wanda Powell; his daughter Amelia S. Powell; and his brother Jay Powell. He is survived by : his daughter Jessie B. Powell (Scott Merriman) of Montgomery; his grandchildren, Kaylee Gregory, Caroline Merriman and Sam Merriman; and his close friends, Fred, Susie Hansen, Craig Fuller, Steve Cox, Steve Casto and Grace Miller.

“My father, Charlie Boothby, passed away in August at the age of 77. He hung out with George at the Mount Orab Marathon many mornings in recent years. They drank coffee and had a great time. My dad bragged about knowing him and always mentioned that PPL had a house in New Hope Ohio where they honed their skills before making it big. I had the honor of meeting George at my family home on Brannon Road near Mount Orab about 10 years ago. He was an absolute gem. Much love!!”
