He was predeceased by : his father Joseph Helmbright; his grandparents, William, Marguerite Helmbright and Pauline Denger; his brothers, Jeffrey and Jerald "Butch" Helmbright; and his nephew CJ Gump.

He is survived by : his mother Sarah "Sally" Helmbright (Denger); his significant other Brenda Lewis; his daughters, Jennifer Helmbright (Rodney Hurkman), Jamie Stedman and Jess; his grandchildren, Tyler and Kaylee; and his sisters, Jamie Gump, Judith Lude (Mark) and Jacqueline Merrill (Rich).

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heslop Chapel (415 Walnut St, Martins Ferry, OH 43935). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
