She was predeceased by: her parents, Ronald Mawer and Mary Mawer (Stevens); her husband Melvin Byrd; her brothers, Jerry Mawer, Ronald E. Mawer and Richard Mawer; and her close friend Donald McCutchen.
She is survived by: her children, Tracy Mawer (Cathleen) of Hillsboro, OH, Tammy Sherrill of Mansfield, OH and Terry Byrd (Mandy) of Howard, OH; her grandchildren, Katie McTaggert, Ray McTaggert (Becca), Matt McTaggert (Becky), Brittony Butler, Caleb Byrd (Katy), Alan Sherrill (Monica) and Adam Sherrill (Breanna); and her sister Shirley Bayless of Mount Vernon. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home (201 Newark Rd, Mt Vernon, OH 43050). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
