Barbara Malone Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Malone of Mount Vernon, Ohio, who passed away on May 3, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Barbara departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Barbara may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Barbara leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Large and Pearl Large; her husband Walter Malone; and her sons, Tom Gates and John Gates.

She is survived by: her children, Michael Gates (Jennifer) and Brenda Kupiec; and her sister Edith Moore. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
