He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick McFarland and Hazel McFarland; his brothers, Frederick Jr. and Robert; and his siblings-in-law, Dean Bechtel, Charles Awwiller, Donna McFarland, Sue Joyce Awwiller and Carolyn Awwiller.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Anne McFarland; his daughter Cindy Ruckman (Mike); his grandchildren, Michael (Amanda), David (Eilidh), Ada and Elizabeth; his great grandchildren, Emma of Mt. Vernon, Esther of Mt. Vernon, Elyse of Mt. Vernon and Luna Ruckman of Mt. Vernon; his siblings, Betty Bechtel of Mt. Vernon, Roy McFarland (Linda) of Valley Center, KS and Shirley Harrison (Dave) of Iberia; and his siblings-in-law, Norma McFarland, Jane McCarthy (Larry), Neel Awwiller (Barbara) and Larry Awwiller. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lasater Chapel (11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd, Mt Vernon, OH 43050). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (17 S Main St, Fredericktown, OH 43019). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Friendship Cemetery.
