He was predeceased by: his parents, Loretta Jean Newton (Sovine) and Elmer Lloyd Newton; his close friend George Orr; and his pets, Kane and Faith.

He is survived by: his pets, Patches and Butters; his sisters, Parthenia Brokaw (Max) of Mount Vernon and Mary Eidt (Steve) of Toledo; his nieces, Laura Looney (Shawn) of Mount Vernon, Samantha Brokaw of Mount Vernon and Cheryl Moody (Travis) of Toledo; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Monica, Nevaeh, Abby, Austin, Devontae, Aaron, Logan, Alex, Tyler and Colin; Kinsley (Jim Cline). He is also survived by his 3 aunts and many cousins and friends.
