She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold "Dutch" Hollifield and Davada Hollifield Sr. (Byrd); and her brothers, Arnold Hollifield Jr., Jesse Hollifield, Francis Hollifield and Clifton Hollifield.

She is survived by: her husband Don W. Connell; and her children, Don J. Connell (Candie), Edward Connell (Linda) and Janet Reynolds (Kenneth). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.
