He was predeceased by: his father John Reed; his wife Mary Jane Reed (Dial); his sons, Michael Reed and James Jr. "Bud" Reed; and his grandsons, Billy Teeter Hayes and Terry Lee Reed Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Julie Teeter-Davison of Mount Vernon, Lori Mirra (Travis) of Kentucky and Terry Reed (Mary) of Newark; his daughter-in-law Kathy Reed of Johnstown; and his grandchildren, Sly Hartley (Jennifer) of Mount Vernon, Helena Parks of Blacklick, Matthew Reed of Columbus, Dusty Reed (Jill) of Newark, Tim Reed of Newark, Casey Hernandez of Kentucky, Candace Unwin (Matthew) of England, Callie Reed of Granville, James Reed of Columbus, Angela Enloe of Martinsburg, Amanda Allen (John) of Newark and Alison Allen (Shane) of Newark. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
