He was predeceased by : his parents, Christian Leaman and Anna Metzler (Walters); his brother-in-law Clyde Miller; and his siblings, Christian Lehman Metzler and Susan Metzler.

He is survived by : his wife Rhoda June Metzler (Long); his children, Stuart (Laura), Joni Bertram of Elkhart, IN and Jed (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Jamison, Hope Bertram, Isabelle, Benjamin, Toby, Nicholas, Malachi and Christopher Metzler; and his siblings, Barbara Miller, Samuel Metzler (Janie), Lillian Yoder (John) and Arlene Carpenter (James).

Viewing was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the New Danville Mennonite Church (103 Marticville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17603). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
