He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hoar and Olive Hoar (Baker); his wife Margaret Sue Hoar; his son Stephen Hoar; and his granddaughter Rebecca Ann Sheasby.

He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Sheasby (Mark) and Patricia Woods. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
