It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roberta Simmons (Mount Vernon, Ohio), who passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ina Shackelford and Miles Shackelford; her son David; and her son-in-law Jason. She is survived by: her husband Donnie; her daughter JoLee; her grandchildren, Micayla Zeltman (Zach), Victoria Eley (Zach), Camden Carrier, Maecie Carrier, Skylar Simmons, Logan Simmons and Brenyn Craig; her great grandchildren, Aelin and Maverick; and her brothers, George Shackelford (Marsha) and Bill Shackelford (Beth). She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and steadfast friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene (16001 Glen Rd, Mt Vernon, OH 43050). A memorial service was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home where funds will be used to create a Nazarene mission scholarship in her name. Keep Roberta Simmons's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
