Ruth Shock Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Shock of Mount Vernon, Ohio, born in Elkview, West Virginia, who passed away on May 18, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father William Hobart Samples; her son Stephen Edward Shock; her husband Harold Shock; her siblings, Helen Smith, Robert and James Samples; and her nephew Todd Smith.

She is survived by: her daughter Lisa Ann Shock-Tharp (Jim); her grandsons, Jeffery Shock (Kelley) and Benjamin Shock; her daughter-in-law Ruth M. Shock; and her sisters-in-law, Sarah Samples, Ruth Ann Perry and Edna Poole. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene.
