It is with sadness that the passing of Wanda Maxwell of Mount Vernon, Ohio is shared. Wanda, born on April 15, 1951, passed away on October 8, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Eula Dummitt; her stepfather James D. Dummitt, Jr.; her daughter Jamie Lynn; her grandson Austin Gage Elliott; her former husband Roger D. Johnson; and her pets, Sophie and Milo.
She is survived by: her husband Terry Maxwell; her daughters, Wendy Gratz and Carey Moomey (Thomas); her granddaughters, Brittany McMahon and Sara Moomey; her great grandchildren, Amiley McMahon and Dean McMahon; her pets, Gizmo and Bella; her siblings, James Dummitt, Sandra Kuhn (Tom), Bill Dummitt (Tammy), Roy Dummitt (Kim), Mary Dummitt and Jason Dummitt (Anneliese); her stepchildren, Becky Maxwell, Kevin Maxwell (Katie), Izzy, Emory and Ella Maxwell; and her siblings-in-law, Elaine Grant and Dick Maxwell (Vicki). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Ebenezer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Wanda's memory to the Dogs of Knox Fund, a cause close to her heart and love for animals.
