He is survived by: his children, Amy Stang (Larry) and Britt VanMeter (Jesse); his grandchildren, Chase, Ali and Sapphire; his siblings, Joyce Shahan (Blaine), Linda Norton and Tim VanMeter; and his pet Spuds. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
