He was predeceased by: his parents, Roberta Hanna (Wealthall) and John A. Hanna; his son John; his sister Lee Hanna; and his brother-in-law Tom Downs.
He is survived by: his children, Tiffany Hanna (Cheryl Kempf), Joshua Hanna (Justine), Megan Flanagan (Hawken), Zachary Hanna (Michelle), Nicholas Hanna (Katie) and Emily Mayock (Patrick); his sister Gretchen Downs; his brothers-in-law, Don and Bob Zimmerman (Gina); his sibling's child Robin Hershberger (Chad); Lois. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
