He was predeceased by: his parents, Eryl Sickmiller and Florence Sickmiller (Mann); his stepmother Marjorie; his sister Jeanette; his stepsiblings, Garnett Noble, Marjane Baker, Janette Coplin, Winona Hays and Donald Evans; his brothers-in-law, Herb Noble, Stan Coplin and Dick Hays; and his grandson Samuel David Sickmiller.
He is survived by: his children, Angela Armbruster (Mark) of Napoleon, Mark (Jennifer) of Petoskey, MI and Adam (Danielle) of Cincinnati; his siblings, Judy Baker (Dennis) of Oakwood, Joseph Sickmiller of Oakwood and Jerry Sickmiller of Lima; his half-sister Melinda Moczulski; his stepbrother DeWayne Evans (Sharon) of Napoleon; his brother-in-law Lee Baker of Canton, MI; his stepchildren, Kristine Hendricks (Craig) of Defiance, Tara McCullouch of Millersberg, Ben Hoffman (Ali Timm) of Defiance and Shaun Hoffman of Defiance; his grandchildren, Ben, Luke Armbruster, Grace Baroudi (Danny), Ryan Sickmiller, Ari and Roman Sickmiller; and his stepgrandchildren, Michael, Maddie Hendricks, Ian (Rebecca), Isabel, Alexander, Rhett McCulloch, Liam Cowle (Tori), Ryan "Dale" Brown Jr., Alexis, Hannah, Christian, Makenzie, Derrick, Zoey and Presley Hoffman.
