He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Gerken and Arlene Gerken (Meyer); and his granddaughter Katherine. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Schindler; his sons, Zachary Gerken (Cassandra), Cody Gerken and Connor Gerken (Abbie); his stepson Alex Garcia (Crystal); and his siblings, Sandy VonDeylen, Sara Myles and Scott Gerken. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (16035 Co Rd U, Napoleon, OH 43545).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Endowment Fund.
