He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Francis and Dororthy Emily Rice (Trusler); his wife Mary Jane; his grandson Daniel Rice; and his brother Bill Rice.

He is survived by : his children, Lisa Herb (Mike), Robert Rice, Kimberlee Rice and Tracie Smith (Pete); his grandchildren, Stacey, Jeffery, Megan, Emily, Evan, Christopher, Kimberlee and Brittany; and his siblings, Robert Francis Rice Jr., Laura Grant and Janice. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
