He was predeceased by: his parents, William M. Wilson and Marcia Wilson (Chalfant); his former wife Lois M. Wilson (Luttenberger); his wife Charlene Wilson (Hawkins); his daughter Angela Ferrell; and his brother William Wilson.

He is survived by: his children, Stephen Wilson (Mary), Cynthia Wilson-Rhodes (Floyd), Thomas "Butch" Wilson, Jr. (Kris) and Timothy Wilson; his grandchildren, Stephenie Wilson, Celeste Wilson-Moles (Scott), Heath Girton (Adina), Joshua Girton, Joseph Wilson, Julia Wilson, Lucas Wilson, Ryan Wilson and Tyler Wilson; his great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Natalie, Colette, Jaden, Kayden, Izzy, Alaina, Oakley and Kordell; and his great great grandchildren, Kai, Grayson and Skye.
