He was predeceased by : his parents, Everett McKee and Christie Mae Cochran McKee; and his siblings, Stella Ricker, Rodney, Jerry and Paul McKee.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara J. Lowery McKee of Nelsonville; his son Joseph E. McKee Jr. (Candy) of Glouster; his grandchildren, Alysa D. McKee, Vince of Pickerington, Joseph E. McKee III of Nelsonville, Kylynn Forrest, Makayla of Calcutta, Keira Hatfield, Steven of New Lexington and Jared Forrest of Glouster; his great grandchildren, Willow Hatfield of Nex Lexington, Stevie of Nex Lexington, Emmit Hammond of Nex Lexington and Oliver Forrest of Calcutta; his children, Trevor, Ronnie, Brian and Tiffany McKee; and his siblings, Frank McKee (Barb) of Glouster, Trudie Gardner of Oakfield and Lori Graham of Junction City. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville (6525 OH-78, Glouster, OH 45732).
