He was predeceased by: his father George Howard Simonton; his brother George Howie Simonton; and his uncle Marion "Picky" Simonton. He is survived by: his mother Mary A. Simonton Simonton (Westerviller); his sons, Hunter Simonton (Alexa) of Amanda and Hastings Simonton of Nelsonville; his sisters, Laurie Holley (Carl) of Nelsonville and Cynthia "Cindy" Cox (John) of Grove City; and his uncle Mike Westerviller of New Lexington. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
